The BASE offers placements to people who:
- Are referred to the Day Opportunities Programme by their Social Worker;
- Have a learning disability;
- Are over 18 years of age;
- Have the CAPACITY and MOTIVATION to engage in the Drop In Centre and with its aims;
- Have the capacity to travel independently
There can be up to 12 people attending The BASE each day, with members being able to attend up to 3 days per week. Everyone is who is offered a placement, has a three month trial period to complete in order to determine if they wish a permanent placement, and to see how they have progressed. The great thing about The BASE is that members actively participate in decision making and they choose what activities they wish to take part in.
