SHADOW COUNCIL 
The first elected assembly for adults with learning disabilities in Northern Ireland
Shadow Council gives adults with learning disability the opportunity to air their views and represent their electorate on a range of issues including:
- health,
- social care,
- employment,
- housing,
- policing,
- public safety.
All candidates will participate in training in election procedures and confidence building before formal elections take place.
Causeway Shadow Council will be made up of 25 councillors and 25 delegates. The 25 candidates not elected will have the chance to become delegates supporting the work of Shadow Council.
In 2010 the Shadow Council project will expand to include Limavady Council area in preparation for local council restructuring in 2011.
The Shadow Council are currently preparing for a conference that they are holding on Wdnesday 8th September 2010!!
