UP-CYCLE

‘Previously Loved to One Off Pieces’

“I love doing up the furniture. I’ve learnt so many new things…from sanding to painting and varnishing. I love seeing pieces finished.” Wesley, CAN Upcycle Trainee, Garvagh

Gavin, Upcycle Trainee, Portrush We CAN Can ‘folk’ are huge fans of just about anything upcycled – from furniture to clothing – and it seems that the eco-trend just keeps on developing. For those unfamiliar with the term, upcycling means taking a used or discarded product — in our world, usually furniture — and refashioning it to create an entire new product of higher quality. Our pieces are beautiful (we can’t make enough!!!) and we sell everything from “belt” chairs to refurbished dressers and wardrobes in our shop, CAN Can Bazaar at 49a Main Street, Ballymoney.

We also have a furniture showroom based at 22 Seymour Street, Ballymoney where we can also refurbish your furniture to order.

All pieces are treated for Fire Retardancy and are finished using toxin-free/eco-friendly varnishes and paints.

7DCR4492As well as giving pieces a “second chance”, upcycling gives our trainees on the WE CAN project, (funded by ESF, DEL and NHSCT), a new range of skills from sanding to painting, varnishing and re-upholstering using donated fabric, which will help them make the transition to paid employment.

So if you have  furniture you would like to donate, we offer a free pick up service *…give your furniture another chance to be loved!

Call in and see us at 22 Seymour Street, Ballymoney or call us for more information on 028 2766 7775.

100% of the funds raised through Up-Cycling go back into the charity to support people with learning disabilities!

*  We can only collect items of furniture we can re-sell or upcycle – please call 02827667775 for more details.
